Gujarati New Year 2026: 7 Bright Sarees for Bestu Varas Under ₹1,100

Five bright art silk jacquard sarees for Gujarati New Year 2026 in green, coral, rani pink, yellow and parrot green

Gujarati New Year, also called Bestu Varas, falls on Tuesday, 10 November 2026, two days after Diwali (Sunday, 8 November 2026). It marks the start of Vikram Samvat 2083. It is a day for new clothes, temple visits, sweets and plenty of “Saal Mubarak” greetings with family and neighbours.

Our sarees take 5-7 days to reach you, so please order by Tuesday, 3 November 2026 to have your saree in hand before Bestu Varas.

How to choose a saree for Bestu Varas

Bestu Varas is a full day. Many families start with an early temple visit, then spend the rest of the day visiting elders and relatives, and end with a meal together. So look for three things:

  • Bright, happy colours. Green, red, rani pink, yellow and orange feel festive and look lovely in family photos with diyas and rangoli in the background.
  • Comfort for long hours. Lighter fabrics like lichi art silk are easy to manage when you are touching feet, serving sweets or sitting on the floor for puja.
  • One saree, two looks. A saree with a rich pallu can be draped neatly for the morning and then styled with heavier jewellery for the evening.

A small Gujarati touch

If you like to wear the Gujarati seedha pallu style, choose a saree with a wide, decorative pallu, because it shows in front. Bandhani-style patterns, green and red combinations and contrast borders all go nicely with this drape. If you prefer the regular Nivi drape, any of the picks below will work just as well.

Quick styling tips

  • Blouse: a contrast blouse looks very festive. Try green with red or pink, yellow with orange or red, and pink with purple or green.
  • Jewellery: oxidised or gold-tone jhumkas and a set of bangles are enough. If you are draping seedha pallu, a long necklace sits nicely over the pallu.
  • Pleats and pinning: pin the pleats and pallu well before the temple visit, so you can move freely all day.
  • Try it once before the day: drape your saree a few days earlier, so there is time to get the blouse stitched or altered.
